What are heroes? According to Webster:

a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities.

a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal: He was a local hero when he saved the drowning child.

Those are a lot of definitions. I personally like that last one. But sadly, heroes today are not the kind of heroes that the world needs. These so-called heroes are poor role models. They are taken in by the seduction of fame, and the money, glory and power that comes with it. And people rush on from hero to hero, not realizing that what they think they know about that “hero” is usually not what they really are like on the inside and all too often the outside.

Is this definition above what we look for in heroes today?

Think about it.
